Airbus Military successfully passes critical milestone
Airbus Military has today successfully achieved the sixth contractual milestone of the A400M programme. "Milestone Six", which involves the acceptance by the customer of the Class Two A400M Cockpit Mock-up is particularly significant since it is designated as one of the six "Critical Milestones" whereby the programme as a whole may be rejected by the customer on the grounds of non-compliance. Other critical milestones include the start of final production, the first flight and certification and delivery of the first aircraft to a customer. The Class Two Mock-up is an exact replica of the aircraft’s operational cockpit and is, essentially, a full-scale laboratory designed to test and verify a number of important parameters in the overall cockpit environment. Using the new facility, a comprehensive programme will be undertaken to validate the detailed design and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the man-machine interface, ensuring that vital information is correctly perceived by the flight crew and that vital actions can be efficiently carried out by them. Airbus and technology partners signed MoU for joint research & technology projects
Leading aircraft manufacturer Airbus, and major Polish applied research group, Technology Partners, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on aeronautics research and technology projects. The agreement is an important step towards strengthening Airbus' partnership with Poland and opens the door for huge development opportunities for Polish scientists. The MoU was signed on 1st June in Brussels by Dr. Tomasz Kośmider, President of Technology Partners, and Dieter Schmitt, Airbus Vice President of Research and Technology. The cooperation will focus on different projects in the field of material sciences, particularly in surface technologies, ergonomics and environmental technologies, mathematical modelling, measurement and testing. The agreement is an opportunity for Polish scientists and industrialists to work hand in hand with Airbus to develop and create innovative aeronautic solutions using the latest technology. The MoU will be valid for five years, however, the research programme will continue longer. Airbus continues to strengthen its partnership with Poland
Airbus, leading aircraft manufacturer and Technology Partners, Polish foundation of major applied research organisations announced their intention to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research and technology projects. Thus Airbus continues to strengthen its partnership with Poland. This agreement will be based on aerospace research and technology developments and is planned to begin this year. In the context of the European Programmes for Research and Technology Development, research projects have been identified in a number of fields including, surface technologies, materials science, ergonomics and environmental technologies, mathematical modelling and measurement and testing. This multi-year co-operation will bring mutual benefits to both parties as it provides a chance for Polish scientific, industrial, university experts and Airbus to create innovative solutions by using advanced technology that may later be applied in the aeronautic industry.
